Krista Burton Headwear

This is the official launch of Krista Burton Headwear!

I've developed a line of headpieces for this year's Christmas Craft Fair!

These headpieces are crafted using only the finest materials. The naturally dyed ribbon is hand cut from habotai silk, delicately pleated and hand-sewn into place. The base is made from felt and buckram using traditional millinery techniques and affixes to your head with a sterling silver plated stainless steel comb. Each headpiece is truly special and one-of-a-kind. :)

Here's my beautiful classmate Katelyn, modelling some of my headpieces...

This particular one is dyed with cutch, myrobalan, logwood and madder.

This one is an un-dyed bridal option!

Doesn't she make a beautiful bride?!

This one is dyed with cochineal, which is actually an insect!

and this one is dyed with cochineal, lac and logwood!

I'll be posting more as I complete them. There will be a wide selection of colours to chose from.

So please, come visit CNA's Textile Student Booth at the Craft Fair! I'll be blogging about all the fantastic products made by my talented school buds, so keep checking back this week!

The Fair is running from November 9th - 13th at the Arts and Culture Center! It's the best selection of fine craft that our province has to offer, and a great spot to do your Christmas shopping!
